Theo em biết thì kernel của Linux tích hợp sẵn chức năng reset root password và rất dễ sử dụng ( http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/linux/reset-your-forgotten-ubuntu-password-in-2-minutes-or-less/).
Câu hỏi của em là nếu root password mà dễ reset thế thì ngừoi ta làm cái màn login để làm gì nữa ? Tuỳ chọn mã hoá homefolder để làm gì nữa? ...

Việc reset này cần ngồi trực tiếp trên máy mới làm được,nếu bạn có quyền physical với máy thì có lẽ linux hay windows cũng thế smilie

Vấn đề là thời gian thôi.

Bạn có thể xem chi tiết hơn ở [1]. Theo link đó thì nếu bạn đã encrypted home thì không reset được nữa.
Cái reset password cũng không phải của kernel Linux.

Nếu home folder đã bị mã hoá thì việc reset password có thể sẽ dẫn đến không thể giải mã và không thể truy cập được home folder. Ngoài ra, bạn có thể cấu hình bootloader để loại bỏ hoặc đặt password cho tính năng recovery. Không ai nói chế độ mặc định của một hệ điều hành miễn phí nhất thiết phải an toàn.
