TTO - Cuối cùng bản Windows Vista Beta 2 cũng đã có thể đến được tay mọi người. Tuy là bản dùng thử nhưng nó cũng đang gây nên một cơn sốt cuồng nhiệt cho dân nghiện vi tính, chỉ sau WorldCup.

Nhưng để cài đặt thành công hệ điều hành mới nhất này, bạn cần phải lưu ý tối thiểu là 6 điều sau đây;

1. Máy tính của bạn nên được trang bị đầu ghi đĩa DVD.

Những người dùng ở Mỹ có thể đặt mua đĩa DVD chứa Windows Vista Beta 2 từ Microsoft với giá là 6 USD kèm theo 4 USD lệ phí bưu điện. Nhưng những người ở ngoài Mỹ chỉ có cách duy nhất là tải nó về dùng.

Dung lượng tải về của các bản Windows Vista Beta 2 đều trên 3GB và thời gian tải về với mạng DSL sẽ mất từ 2 đến 9 giờ. Bạn hoàn toàn không thể cài đặt từ bản Vista tải về còn nằm trên đĩa cứng mà bắt buộc phải ghi toàn bộ nội dung tải về lên đĩa DVD để sau đó cài đặt từ đĩa DVD này.

2. Sẽ không thể quay về hệ điều hành cũ khi đang cài đặt Windows Vista Beta 2.

Microsoft đã đưa ra khuyến cáo rằng trước khi cài đặt Windows Vista Beta 2 trên bất kỳ máy tính nào thì người dùng cũng đều phải sao lưu lại tất cả mọi dữ liệu quan trọng vì quá trình cài đặt Vista có thể làm mất hoàn toàn dữ liệu ở phân vùng đĩa cứng chứa nó.

Ngay khi quá trình cài đặt Windows Vista Beta 2 đã bắt đầu thì người dùng sẽ không có cách nào quay trở lại hệ điều hành Windows trước đó. Nói cách khác là Windows Vista Beta 2 sẽ loại bỏ hoàn toàn bộ Windows cũ để thay nó vào. Microsoft khuyến cáo người dùng nên sử dụng Norton Ghost của Symantec để tạo ra bản sao lưu của Windows cũ trước khi cài đặt Windows Vista Beta 2 để nếu có trục trặc thì vẫn có thể đưa máy tính trở về tình trạng như cũ.

3. Hãy cẩn thận về mọi vấn đề bảo mật liên quan đến Windows Vista Beta 2.

Microsoft đưa ra khuyến cáo rằng người dùng cần phải cân nhắc kỹ lưỡng trước khi cài đặt và sử dụng thử Windows Vista Beta 2. Vì đây là bản thử nghiệm cho nên Microsoft chỉ có trách nhiệm giới hạn đối với những rắc rối mà nó gây ra cho người dùng.

Những rắc rối này có thể xảy ra ở nhiều phương diện như bất tương thích với nhiều thiết bị phần cứng có sẵn trên máy tính, cũng như có thể xảy ra xung đột với các phần mềm, công cụ bảo mật… mà người dùng cài vào sau đó. Người dùng cũng nên hạn chế tối đa việc sử dụng Windows Vista Beta 2 để giao dịch trực tuyến, nhất là ở các thương vụ giao dịch điện tử có số tiền lớn.

4. Windows Vista Beta 2 sẽ hết hạn sử dụng vào ngày 1-6-2007.

5. Windows Vista Beta 2 sẽ không thể Update được mọi thứ dành cho bản Windows Vista chính thức.

6. Khuyến cáo cho người dùng Windows… lậu.

Với dân xài Windows lậu thì nên quên hẳn đi việc tải Windows Vista Beta 2 về vì Microsoft luôn luôn kiểm tra mã số bản quyền của bản Windows dùng để tải về. Nhưng nếu ai đó may mắn có được đĩa DVD Windows Vista Beta 2 đã có sẵn mã số cài đặt thì quá trình cài đặt vẫn diễn ra bình thường.

Quản lý Internet gia đình bằng iNet Protector

Chi phí truy cập Internet ở gia đình bạn đã lên đến hàng triệu đồng? Ai đó đã ghé thăm các trang web đen quá nhiều? Bạn hãy lập lại trật tự lướt web tại gia bằng công cụ quản lý truy cập Internet hữu hiệu mang tên iNet Protector.

Khi đăng nhập lần đầu tiên vào giao diện của iNet Protector, chương trình sẽ yêu cầu bạn nhập password để chỉ riêng bạn mới có quyền sử dụng iNet Protector. Sau khi nhập xong mật khẩu, giao diện của iNet Protector sẽ hiện ra để bạn sử dụng. Khi hoạt động, nó sẽ hiển thị biểu tượng dưới hình tượng quả cầu màu xanh nằm ở khay đồng hồ.

Để ngăn chặn người khác truy cập Internet lúc bạn vắng nhà thì bạn nên vào “Setting” > nhập password của bạn > chọn Options và đánh dấu vào ô “Always disable Internet on Startup” để iNet Protector ngắt hoàn toàn mọi kết nối giữa máy tính và Internet. Máy tính này chỉ có thể truy cập vào mạng được khi chính bản thân bạn kích hoạt iNet Protector về lại chế độ “Internet Enable”.

Bạn cũng thể dùng iNet Protector để thiết lập một lịch trình cho phép truy cập mạng vào một số thời điểm nhất định trong ngày. Nhấn vào nút “Schedule…” để hiện ra giao diện Schedule > nhấn chuột vào các ô thời gian của 7 ngày trong tuần mà bạn cần khóa truy cập Internet. Nếu nắm quyền truy cập chính của máy tính thì bạn cũng có thể thiết lập thời gian được phép truy cập cho từng tài khoản User trên máy tính.

Để tiết kiệm chi phí truy cập mạng, bạn có thể nhấn vào “Daily Quotas...” hoặc “Set Timer”, sau đó thiết lập số giờ tối đa mà máy tính được phép đăng nhập vào mạng trong các ngày trong tuần. Thời gian truy cập vừa hết là máy tính sẽ tự động ngắt khỏi mạng và không ai còn có thể truy cập vào Internet được nữa.

Bạn cũng có thể dùng iNet Protector để vô hiệu hóa toàn bộ dịch vụ liên quan đến Internet có trên máy tính. Nhấn vào Setting > chọn thẻ “Allowed Services”. Muốn ngăn chặn dịch vụ web nào thì bạn chỉ cần đánh dấu vào dịch vụ web đó. Chẳng hạn đánh dấu vào Web Browsing, E-mail… là máy tính của bạn sẽ không thể nào lướt web và dùng e-mail được nữa, dù rằng vẫn kết nối được vào Internet.

Bạn cũng có thể dùng iNet Protector như một bộ lọc trang web thủ công bằng cách chọn thẻ “Allowed Sites” trong “Settings”, chọn “Add” và nhập vào địa chỉ các website khiêu dâm mà bạn cho rằng các em bạn thường hay ghé thăm, để chúng vĩnh viễn không thể nào truy cập được vào các trang web đó nữa.

Sáng tạo hình flash cùng Sothink Glanda

Đây là công cụ tạo flash dễ sử dụng và tốn ít thời gian để học. Sothink Glanda sẽ giúp bạn thiết kế các banner, logo... nhấp nháy có thể đưa lên trang web chỉ bằng những cái nhấn chuột.

Trước hết, bạn vào đây để tải chương trình dùng thử trong 15 ngày với dung lượng 36,9 MB.

Sau khi giải nén, bạn khởi động phần mềm và bấm mục Continue để vào giao diện chính.

Ở đây có 4 lựa chọn tạo flash mới là Blank Document (tập tin trắng để bạn bắt tay vào làm từ đầu), Album, Banner và Navigation Buttons. Ba lựa chọn cuối là những tập tin mẫu có thể thay đổi đôi chút trong các dòng chữ hiển thị, hiệu ứng âm thanh...

Còn nếu bắt đầu làm flash từ tập tin trắng và muốn tự vẽ hình ảnh, bạn cần làm quen với những khái niệm về tọa độ. Ví dụ như trên một hình flash có chiều dài (width) là 200 pixel và chiều cao (height) là 100 pixel thì các hình ảnh, dòng chữ... đặt trong đó có một vị trí riêng (chúng có thể chồng lên nhau) xác định bằng tọa độ, trong đó, gốc tọa độ (0,0) là góc dưới bên trái.

Các công cụ vẽ đường thẳng, hình chữ nhật, hình tròn, đa giác, các nút chỉnh sửa ... ở bên tay phải sẽ giúp bạn tự do sáng tạo hình ảnh cho riêng mình. Người sử dụng có thể tham khảo phần vẽ hình và xác định tọa độ trong mục Help > Tutorial > Create Shape. Đơn giản hơn, bạn vẫn có thể dùng thao tác kéo-thả chuột để chỉnh hình ảnh vào các vị trí mình muốn. Nếu không, bạn có thể chọn hình ảnh có sẵn trong kho tài nguyên trên máy tính hoặc trên mạng.

Một điểm cần chú ý khác là mục Timeline. Flash là tập hợp những hiệu ứng hình ảnh nối tiếp nhau nên bạn sẽ phải chọn độ dài thời gian cho mỗi hiệu ứng. Bạn có thể xem Timeline cho tập tin flash bằng cách nhấn vào mục View > Timeline. Trong băng thời gian này, bạn sẽ thấy một thanh bar màu xanh đậm nằm phía trên cùng thể hiện tổng độ dài của các hiệu ứng. Ở phía dưới là các bar nhỏ hơn có hai đầu màu xanh dương, mỗi thanh thể hiện độ dài của một hiệu ứng nhất định.

Để chèn một hiệu ứng vào cho đối tượng bất kỳ trong hình flash, nhấp chuột vào đối tượng đó rồi nhấn vào mục Add Effect để chọn. Lúc này trên băng thời gian sẽ xuất hiện hiệu ứng đó (có tên ngày trên bar). Bạn có thể chỉnh thời gian thực hiện hiệu ứng bằng cách kéo rê chuột trên thanh Timeline. Khi nhấn chuột phải vào hiệu ứng trong ô Timeline, bạn có thể tùy chọn Replace để thay thế một hiệu ứng khác. Lúc này, một cửa sổ hiện ra thể hiện những hiệu ứng chuyển động để bạn dễ dàng chọn lựa hơn. Ngoài ra, với mỗi đối tượng, bạn còn chèn thêm âm thanh bằng mục Add Sound và hiệu ứng này cũng được thể hiện trên Timeline.

Khi đã tạo xong flash, bạn có thể trích xuất chúng dưới dạng file có định dạng .swf và chèn vào tập tin HTML để đưa lên web.

Mục Help của chương trình được trình bày khá rõ ràng và hướng dẫn người dùng một cách cụ thể.

WarDriving: Drive, Detect, Defend: A Guide to Wireless Security

The term WarDriving originates from WarDialing, a term introduced to the public by Matthew Broderick’s character, David Lightman, in the 1983 movie “WarGames.” WarDialing is the practice of using a modem attached to a computer to dial an entire exchange of telephone numbers to locate any computers with modems attached to them. WarDriving employs the same concept, although it is updated to a more current technology; wireless networks. A WarDriver drives around a geographical location to determine all of the wireless access points in that area. Once these access points are discovered, a WarDriver uses a software program or Web site to map the results of his efforts. Based on these results, a statistical analysis is performed. This statistical analysis can be of one drive, one area, or a general overview of all wireless networks.

WarDriving became more well known when the process was automated by Peter Shipley, a computer security consultant in Berkeley, California. During the fall of 2000, Shipley conducted an 18-month survey of wireless networks in Berkeley, California and reported his results at the annual DefCon hacker conference in July of 2001. This presentation, designed to raise awareness of the insecurity of wireless networks that were deployed at that time, laid the groundwork for the “true” WarDriver.
